The composition of the Foundation's Board of Directors ensures that it will always act to further the aims of the University of Virginia.

Chaired by the Rector of the Board of Visitors (or their designee), the Foundation Board includes selected members of the University's Board of Visitors, in addition to the President, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Vice President for External Affairs, and the Vice President for Research, as well as distinguished members of the public.
